Extrapack opens two new factories near Veliko Tarnovo
The Bulgarian company, a leader in the production of bags and packaging from paper, textiles and polyethylene - Extrapack OOD, will open two new factories this summer. One is located in Pavlikeni, and the other in the village of Ledenik.
The firm currently has three plants in operation and was due to open a fourth late last year, but the process was delayed.
The machines are currently being assembled in the factory, which is about to be opened. The delay occurred because of infrastructure problems, " explained Milen Georgiev, one of the company`s managers, to Economic.bg.
The new production facility, which the company calls Plant No. 4, is located on the territory of the village of Ledenik, near Veliko Tarnovo. It is expected that about 30 new workers will be hired there.
The plant in Pavlikeni
The plant in Pavlikeni should become operational in June or July, according to Milen Georgiev. Initially, it will produce cardboard boxes, but in the future, it is planned to expand its production with corrugated cardboard packaging.
The plant was built on the territory of a former state-owned cannery. It takes up an area of 12 acres, with an initially developed built-up area of over 7,500 square meters. The cost of construction so far is over 2.5 million euros, and the new jobs that will be created are over 50.
The two new plants will have equipment for a total value of 5 million euros.

Extrapack OOD was established in 1995 in Veliko Tarnovo. Over the years, the company has repeatedly increased its production capacity and expanded its network of representative offices in all major Bulgarian cities.
The company opened its first plant in 2001 in the western industrial zone of Veliko Tarnovo. The second plant opened in 2009, and in 2016 work began on the third one. The last one produces non-woven polymer fabrics that are used in many manufacturing sectors.
